Today is another good day! Although the day ain't over yet. Haha.
Had CIP this morning. ODAC brought kids to Hortgarden. Initially planned for it to be at the Botanic Gardens, but we got rejected 'cause of the ongoing APEC thing. Frankly, I have no idea what APEC stands for. Haha. I'll go Google it later.
Anyway, I got to be a Group IC, or in other words, a jiejie. And it was fun! I had NKL and PTH as my partners-in-crime. Nah, not partners-in-crime. We all tried to keep the crazy kids under control. And the poor guys had to take charge of the two boys, Ronaldo and Pumpkin. They were like monkeys! They ran non-stop and were super loud! Super hyper lar. Too long never hang with primary school kids already. Forgot how crazy and energetic they are. Got a good reminder today though. Haha.
Oh, and there was little A. He's super cute. He's super shy too and didn't respond to any of us. And I watched over him while the guys went running after the monkeys. And he got so excited at the playground and refused to leave. But we had a schedule to keep to! So I carried him when he refused to walk in the direction we were heading in. Oh, and once he clung so tightly to the playground's metal bars when it was time to go. And sweets were my best friend! Used it to bribe him into behaving. Haha. And he only started talking when the bus home was arriving! And he kept sticking to me lar. Damn cute, I tell you. Oh, and he likes looking at butterflies, earthworms, centipedes and millipedes. And he shook his head when I asked him if she was his sister! LOL!
And and the last 2 members of our 5-kid group. The 2 Js. They're siblings. And the girl's name is spelled in such a cool way. They were the least attention-needing kids. 'cause they knew how to behave, even tho the boy can be quite a handful at times. I think he got influenced by the 2 monkeys. And the girl was a babe. She hardly did anything that was worth reprimanding! And the boy has a thing for stepping on the innocent centipedes/millipedes! But he didn't 'cause of our repeated reminders. However, he sliced one in half during lunch break! The poor millipede crawled into the sheltered area 'cause of the looming rain and met this evil boy who sliced him in half with his fan! Even in half, it's top half was still moving and it was trying to pull away. But it couldn't get far 'cause its guts were still intact with the 2nd half. Then it found its 2nd half and seemed to be panicking. Haha. Then all the kids gathered 'round it in curiosity and PTH proceeded to cut its guts in the good name of trying to free him from his misery. So the moving half of the millipede was happy and tried to crawl as fast as it could away from crazy humans who cut his body and his guts. But Pumpkin had to go kick it and made it fly like a metre or 2 away. Everyone screamed and told him NOT to kick it again. And guess what did he do? Yep, you've got it. He kicked it again, and again until it could no longer be seen. Poor millipede. I'm pretty sure he didn't survive. Oh, and he also stepped on the non-moving half.
Oh, and Pumpkin has a problem remembering the 3Rs. And we had fun on the bus back. The boy J was sharing his knowledge. And Pumpkin missed SLZH. And Ronaldo was insane, he claimed that NKL, A and I looked like a mini family. Cartoon! Haha. Overall, it was exhausting. But fun. Too bad we'll probably never see them again, though most of them have got FB. Oh, NKL was so shocked they had FB while he didn't. Haha. Time to make one, NKL!
Ohya, NKL mentioned something on the ride back that made me realise exactly what made me like SR so much. Welcomed. That's exactly how I felt then and how I feel now. There's this warm feeling of family there. That's what makes me not regret not going to where everyone else went and glad that I went there instead of following the crowd. That's exactly how I want the freshies to feel next year. How? Now, that's something to ponder on. SR may not have the best image and reputation out there, but I want them to not regret coming here. 'cause SR has the reputation of having students that did not have SR in one of their top choices and only came here 'cause they've got no other choices. So freshies, beware. You may just be sucked into the culture of SR. Haha. No idea where that came from. But ya (:
Am gonna go see Granddad at the hospital. Heard mom say that Grandma's gonna go sell her apartment in search of a smaller, more manageable one. I know it's for the better, but couldn't help feeling sad. It's where I've been spending most of my Saturdays all my 17 years alive. And it's where most of my memories, since we've moved. Oh well, we all have to let go of the old things so that new ones can come in, right?
